     In order to build up a platform for socialized education enterprises, to bring into full play of Shanghai Jiao Tong University's advantageous position and all the resources in education , talents , technology and information to serve the society, SJTU  Industrial Investment Management Co., Ltd and  SJTU  Nanyang Co., Ltd ( an A-share listed company, stock code 600661) co - founded Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group,with a registered capital of RMB￥150 million on August 4 th, 1999, as an independent  legal entity for  Shanghai Jiao  Tong University to promote life-long education.

     Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group is a parent company, composed of twelve subsidiary  companies and  colleges , which  includes five major educational organizations : SJTU  Nanyang  Modern  Education  Center ,  Shanghai  International Cultural Relationship Institute , Jiaxing Nanyang  Professional Technology College, SJTU Nanyang Affiliated ( Kunshan ) School and SJTU Nanyang Senior High School . In addition , Shanghai  Jiao  Tong  University  Education  Group  also invested on two educational organizations: Shanghai Jiao Tong University Overseas Education College and Shanghai Talent Training & Development Center .

     The board  of Shanghai Jiao Tong  University  Education Group consists of five directors. Chairman , Mr. Wu Zhuping, is the general manager of  SJTU  Nanyang Co., Ltd. The  other four  directors  are : Mr. Gong Minyu  , chief  executive  of  SJTU Industrial Investment Management Co., Ltd.; Professor Tao Aizhu , chief director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Overseas Education College ; Mr. Kong Qinghong, chief executive  of  Shanghai  Jiao  Tong  University  Education Co., Ltd . and  Mr. Wang Hongxin,expert in business administration and chief executive of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Overseas Education College . The Expert Committee of the Group is mainly composed of professors or  experts from Shanghai Jiao Tong University . Director of the  committee  is  Professor  Ding  Wenjiang  , vice  chairman  of  Shanghai  Jiao Tong University Council and  vice  chairman  of  Shanghai  Science  and  Technology Association.

     The Education Group, by making use of high quality education resources both at home and  abroad , giving  top priority to high level continuing education , making primary  efforts  in  middle  and  high  level professional education and training, taking quality education as the foundation, tied to international cooperation, aims to build up a first class brand in lifelong education.
