Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping met Mr. Clodoaldo Hugueney Filho, Brazilian Ambassador to China on September 23, 2011.
Hao Ping appraised the bilateral relationship between China and Brazil and the education systems of both countries. He shared ideas with Hugueney on further deepening mutual collaboration in higher education. Hao pointed out that China-Brazil cooperation in higher education could follow the principle of “Government supporting while universities playing the main role”. Educational ties could be strengthened through various ways such as increasing quantities of government scholarships, convening China-Brazil University Presidents Forum and fostering collaborative relations between universities.
Hugueney briefed Hao about the scholarship program named “Science without Borders” launched by the President of Brazil. Both sides appointed persons in charge to further discuss details about signing a MOU accordingly.
